Barnardo’s Works Highland delivers a continuum of employability support for young people aged between 15-29 years who require support to gain engagement into a positive, sustainable destination.  We work with young people on a 1:1 basis and also in small groups from initial induction through to connectivity to next step training, education or employment.

Our Offer: 

  • Young people will be supported by a key worker throughout their journey at a stage that is appropriate for them.
  • Young people will have access to local work experience opportunities and SQA qualifications.
  • Promoting positive health and wellbeing will be integrated within all stages of the pipeline
  • We aim to build confidence, skills, resilience and promote positive health and wellbeing.

The Barnardo’s Works Highland office is based at Fairways House, Fairways Business Park, Slackbuie, Inverness, IV2 6AA

The office is within the SCVO (Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations) building, shared with other Charities. Fairways house has ample parking and disabled access. Fairways house is accessible via public transport with buses frequently calling at nearby locations such as Inshes retail park, Raigmore Hospital, UHI Campus, Sir Walter Scott Drive (Distributor road), Hilton, Culduthel, Lochardil, ASDA, all a short walk to the building.

Bus routes include; Number 7 Milton of Leys, 14 Whitebridge,  4 Milton of Leys, 3, 5 and 7 Culduthel/Lochardil/Hilton/Asda.

The most direct route to our office is the No4 bus from Union street Inverness to Fairways Business Park.

We work closely with the following: Local education, SDS, DWP,CITB Highland Council Employability Team as well as other Barnardo’s services.

Our programmes work closely with: Youth Scotland, Discovering Your Potential and CashBack for Communities.
