BWB Renfrewshire – Alannah

Updated: 22/12/2023

Alannah left high school, went to college to do a Fine Art Course however. Alannah didn’t enjoy college so was then left sitting around the house doing nothing, walking dog was Alannah’s highlight. Alannah went to Invest in Renfrewshire looking for employability support and then was referred to Barnardo’s Works BWB programme.

“I am proud to see Alannah’s development throughout the time I have been working with her, she also seems more confident in herself and what she can achieve!”

Alannah gained a first aid at work qualification, had an interview with HMV (even though she didn’t get the job she felt more confident during this interview). Gained new peer relationships through the social activity and tried new experiences that Alannah had never tried before such as Laser Tag and craft activities (including a really cool pumpkin carving).

Alannah is now progressing onto Impact Arts Express Yourself course in January to further develop their creative talents to hopefully become a tattoo artist in the future.

“I enjoyed my time at Barnardo’s Works as I have made new friends with people I wouldn’t have met before, and it has also improved my daily routine”
