Hi, my name is Raveena. I have been working for Barnardo’s for two years now. I teach/assess on the Apprenticeships for Early Years, Health and Social Care, Team Leader Supervisor/ILM Management and Business Admin at various levels. I also support the Study Programme learners at our centre, as when required. I have been in the education field now for over 15 years and have worked for various FE colleges and different training providers over the years. I started off in the Health and Social care sector and gained knowledge in other sectors. I am also a qualified internal moderator.
In my free time, I enjoy long distance walking and make time to meet up with friends and family.
Hi I’m Dan, I’m the Sports and Business tutor for Midlands ETS.
My main passion has always been sports. I have to give credit to my mom and dad for putting up with the cold mornings of football matches and the many, many trips to watch Birmingham City home and away. Throughout school, college and university, I have always tried to play and learn as many sports as possible, and I currently play baseball for the Birmingham Bats. Previously before Barnardo’s, I worked for Solihull Moors as a sports coach and eventually became a teacher with a P.E specialism. I am new to Business, but I enjoy learning new things and always try to be the best I can for my students. In my free time, I enjoy my video games and love going for walks and taking my miniature schnauzer Alfie around the countryside.
Hi, I’m Stevi,
I have been working for Barnardo’s ETS Midlands for three years, starting out as an Administration Assistant before stepping into my new role as a Learning Support Assistant in September 2025. Moving into this role has really allowed me to focus on what I’m most passionate about – supporting students, helping them build confidence, and celebrating their achievements along the way. Creating a positive, encouraging learning environment is something I truly enjoy.
Outside of work I enjoy walking my pet Shar-Pei dog, watching films and occasionally utilising my gym membership.
Hello, my name is Beks. I always wanted to be a teacher but was told it would never happen! So armed with grit and determination I wanted to prove them all wrong, so I took the wibbly wobbly path gaining life experiences first then eventually starting my teaching career aged 25 in the hair, beauty, and holistic therapies industry. I have taught in schools and FE colleges and have settled finally at Barnardo’s. I have been here for over 10 years. I teach on the Study Programme – Business Support, Health and Social Care, and Children and Young People. I am passionate about learning and unlocking the potential in everyone, to be the best they can. I am Bilingual – my other language is British Sign Language; I volunteer at a local Deaf club supporting young people and adults.
In my spare time I eat curry, teach photography, and try to fit friends and family in. On a weekend, you will find me either next to a river with my camera (I love photographing wildlife and have won many awards for my photography), or on a field digging for treasure as I am a keen metal detectorist.
Hi – I’m Wendy, the Manager for Midlands ETS. I joined Barnardo’s over 13 years ago after working in the Banking Industry for 23 years. I decided to completely change my career as I wanted a job where I felt I was making a difference and helping people wherever I could. I joined Barnardo’s as an administrator and was lucky enough to be appointed to the Manager of Midlands ETS 10 years ago. During this time I have managed a number of different contracts – all supporting young people with the main aim of helping them to fulfil their full potential.
My team are all incredibly passionate about helping young people, and always go above and beyond their job roles to ensure everyone does the best that they can.
In my spare time I enjoy swimming, dancing and reading.
Hi, I’m Lucy. I joined Barnardo’s in May 2010, following 20 years in the Banking Industry. I initially worked within the Finance Team and quickly progressed to support Midlands ETS as Project Administrator. Under my current role I have a variety of responsibilities to keep me busy, supporting with administration and finance tasks for the Service. I am proud to say I work for Barnardo’s and have job satisfaction in seeing the daily difference we make in supporting our young people. During my spare time I enjoy running, Line Dancing and golfing with friends.
